The team is definately on its heels. Not having Koivu has really tilted the balance of the series. That being said, Montreal has been in every game and have simply failed to win the battles and failed to execute. That will be the key tonight - winning battles and executing our chances.

The battles - we had a couple power plays in the 3rd period of game 5 - we coninually dumped it in and failed to win the battle for the puck - the PPs were wasted. If we're gonna dump it in, we better be committed to winning the battles. Otherwise someone's (Kovalev,Markov) gonna have to gain the zone by carrying it in. Our PP has to be better in game 6 if we hope to reach game 7.

Execution - we are being too soft in the offensive zone and looking for the perfect shot instead of just letting the shots go and crashing the net. We need to get traffic in front of Ward and score a couple of ugly goals. They don't have to be pretty, they just have to go in. Also, I really would like us to either block the Carolina point shots on their PP or clear a lane so that Huet can actually see the puck. We're back on our heels and not being aggressive enough on our PK.

No excuses for not leaving it all on the table tonight. I'll look for the habs to play like there's no tomorrow.

Go Habs Go!
