Some people think it's because they're saddled with debt that the province has passed on to the team, and that the delay in construction forced them to let players go to cut costs. If so, that's pathetic and obviously a bad strategy. Still, if it amounts to a mortgage owed to the province, then it's not bad as far as debts go so I don't see why that would make them act so rashly.
And how exactly do you buy a Community owned team, would there be a vote on it by the season ticket holders?
