I've had enough of this "he ran into a hot goalie" excuse. Kovalev played against the same goaltenders and scored 4 goals. Ribeiro wasn't robbed of 5 goals by Ward. Like a lot of players he repeatedly choked and made Ward look good. Only Ribeiro choked on picture perfect plays and he choked 5 or 6 times when he was most needed. It's as simple as that and it's no different from his performance in the 2004 playoffs or from the regular season this year. The guy is a choker and he never shows up for big games. It can't get any more obvious than it is now. Kovalev (and his $4.5 million salary) is being completely wasted playing with Ribeiro. I doubt Gainey will waste Kovy for another year.

One more time; RIBEIRO is

-SMALL
-SLOW
-WEAK
-DEFENSIVELY IRRESPONSIBLE
-WORST ON THE TEAM AT FACEOFFS
-NOT A CLUTCH PLAYER
-WASTING THE $4.5 million investment we have made in Alex Kovalev.
-ON A TEAM THAT ALREADY HAS TOO MANY PLAYERS WITH THE ABOVE CHARACTERISTICS.

He has played his last playoff game in Montreal. Write it down. Others will slowly go, too. Sundstrom, Bulis and Zednik are also on the out list.
