Have you seen the inside pictures of Barclays Center yet? It's magnificent. Only issue is the seating for hockey. The seats are extremely close to the action, and the upper deck is very steep which makes you feel like you're on top of the action. The sightlines look to be much better then MSG.
The only argument that people and Ranger fans like yourself will have is that MSG is so much better because of it's history and blah blah. Yeah, it's also in the heart of Manhattan. Ok.
