Jason Arnott - Yes, and would see him coming back to Gainey's team.
Marc Savard - This is Mike Ribeiro playing with Kovalchuk and Hossa. No upgrade whatsoever.
Michael Peca - Another overpayed defensive forward with little offense. We already have Bonk.
Jason Allison - Too ugly.
Steve Rucchin - We don't need a two-way player, we need a game-breaker. We already have Pleks, Bonk, Bégin...
Mike Sillinger - Once again, good, but not good enough for our needs. Still wouldn't mind him.

LW
Sergei Samsonov - Small. But he would be real entertaining.
Brendan Shanahan - Will stay with the Wings.
Eric Daze - Maybe for $450,000.
Chris Simon - Lapierre, Murray, Ferland are all better and cheaper.
Vaclav Varada - See Simon, but even more useless.
Jarkko Ruutu - See Simon, but at least he's entertaining.
Georges Laraque - Why do we need a goon?! Just add grit, having one designated goon won't help!

RW
Teemu Selanne- Would be great, but I don't see him leaving California.
Petr Sykora - No way. Soft soft soft.
Anson Carter - Would be great.
Petr Bondra - We have too much players that play the same style of game. Woudl rather give an opportunity to a younger player.
Mike Grier - See Simon.
Scott Mellanby - Will stay in Atlanta.

D
Zdeno Chara - Overrated, but I admit he would be great!
Wade Redden - Will stay in Ottawa.
Ed Jovanovski - Incredibly overrated. No way at his price-tag.
Bryan McCabe - Can't play D.
Pavel Kubina - A bit soft, but I wouldn't mind.
Kim Johnsson - Would be pretty good.
Jay McKee - Him I want, but he shouldn't make too much!
Willie Mitchell - Pass.
Eric Desjardins - Old, never was very good defensively.
Ruslan Salei - Would he really solve any of our problems? Nope.
Karlis Skrastins - See Salei.
Dick Tarnstrom - Can't play D.
Jaroslav Spacek - Nope.
Jon Klemm - Don't see how it would help us in any way.
