And Carle is a poor comparator to Subban. Subban can play physical D, has a hard, accurate slapshot from the point, and will drop the gloves.
He is definitely a different player from Carle (other than that "play defense" thing). He's too busy hot dogging to play his position properly. He's improved in that regard but still has a long way to go.
Let's put it this way -- if your team has a 1-goal lead, would you be comfortable with him out there protecting it? I wouldn't.
