Hmm, Aebischer has been in the playoffs before. He made the trip to the 2nd round only once, compared to Theo's 2. That's not that big a difference if you ask me. And he was there like Nabokov for SJ we can say (Giguere was supposed to stay the starter...).

And, if you include outside of NHL experience, Huet has tons of playoff experience (in the A, in Swiss and Germany, I won't bother to include France ), and international play too, where he was always the key player for Team France, often responding well.

But we agree, goaltending was not Montreal's Achille heel against Carolina, despite the occasional soft goal (that Ward, a greener goalie, never let in).

That's why I think it's safer to enter the playoffs with a proven goalie, but not mandatory. Somewhen, you have to let the green goalies have their chance. And, even if Tampa won with the Bulin wall 2 years ago, Calgary went very close with a Kiprusoff whose season looked a lot like Huet's one this year.
