I know it's just one season, but I think Hovinen's projected ceiling is higher than Leighton's, who's an NHL backup at best. It would suck to have him come over only to warm the benches and get an occasional start here and there. I guess we'll see how it plays out, but I don't see how someone who seems to be all buddy-buddy with the Flyers brass and the coaches is going to be a backup in the AHL after getting promoted back to the NHL. I think the only way that happens is if he is horrendous, but he's not bad enough to lose a job of an AHL starter, so I'm not betting on that.

I'm not following the NHL negotiations that closely, though, so maybe not all is going to be lost and order is going to be restored soon. If the chances of that are slim, I'd rather see Hovinen get the hell out.
