It makes no sense to just sit there and not get any paychecks when you could:
1) get ready for the season
And
2) get paid to get ready for the season.
You call them clowns and I call it making a living by getting a paycheck.

I'm not bashing them for finding another way to earn a living, I'm bashing them for allowing themselves to be forced to go to inferior league for inferior wages instead of just biting the bullet and taking their paycut here, where they will make more money anyway. (I realize this isn't the case for ALL players, I'm sure guys like Malkin or Ovechkin might make more in europe if they get big money with lower taxes.
