Every team, every GM makes mistakes. Even guys like Sather and Lamoriello make mistakes, its unavoidable. As long as not ALL or the majority of their transactions and dealings are mistakes then its acceptable (*cough* Houle, *cough* Milbury). We can't expect that Gainey is going to make the perfect drafts every year, going to assign the perfect salaries to players, is going to rip off every team in trades every time... You win some, you lose some, as long as the team is improving and gets closer to its goals every year. With guys like Plekanec, Higgins, Komisarek and Perezhogin, the future looks good for the Habs. Guys like Markov and Bouillon get better every year. Ryder was a steal considering how low he was drafted. Personally, I think theres more positives then negatives. Though we got eliminated in the first round, how many of you expected us to beat the Canes this year? We won the first two games, worked hard for the majority of the games and came very close to beating the second seeded team in the East with a team thats filled with rookies and has no real superstars like Sakic or Pronger. I'm very proud of the Habs this year, the future looks very bright and they will be an even stronger team next year.
