If it wasn't for his health, he would've been gone top 5. Bernier, there was a question about his work ethic. But we took the same kind of risk with Latendresse, the reason why he fell down the rankings, and we took the risk....As far as Bergeron, in most of the scouting services rankings, Bergeron was ranked BEHIND our 3rd round choice, Maxim Lapierre. And even Bruins' scouts said that never ever did they ever dreamed he would've developed they way he did.
As far as Beauchemin is concerned, well it could be mistake.....But if you really want to talk about drafts, you can't possibly talk about 2003-2004-2005 since those kids are developing as they should be and we will begin to see what those drafts will give us.
The real problems years are 1994-2002 with a few exceptions, mostly the spectacular 1998 and Higgins in 2002 and a few others... We are paying for those years right now, let this organisation in place do their work and we should be OK.
2001 is such a spectacular draft : Komo, Perezhogin, Plekanec
