Like I hate Semin being Sjomin (in Finnish). It's Semin for me, that's how I learned to know the guy. Same goes to Fedorov, he should be Fjodorov used in Finnish, but it's Fedorov for me forever.
Ya, they do the same in Swedish. Ovetjkin, Datsiuk, Kovaltjuk, Siomin. Honestly I don't mind the spelling if it's pronounced the same, but Siomin etc. gets silly. Transcribed names for the sake of North America are kinda like artist names anyway and you get used to them. It's not like the Swedish or Finnish players are pronounced the right way either.
