You and I both know cheap veteran D-men always bring a 2nd at the deadline and there is always a bigger demand than supply at that point in the year. I mean, look at Oduya, brought back a 2nd and 3rd in a deep draft. I'm not saying Connolly is worthless, just that I don't think contenders will need a 2C and look at Connolly as the solution and give up a 2nd for him. Connolly to the Leafs, you get something for him and it is a win IMO. Playing out his contract and letting him walk seems dumb to me unless you are going to make the playoffs.
If not Montador, I would do something like Paradis or Lalonde.
