You can argue about the seasons before the Sharks were founded, but after 14 years in the league, and 9 playoff appearances, the Sharks are hardly an expansion team, nor are they "new" to the playoffs. Maybe if you were talking about the Blue Jackets, but come on... yeesh...
New expansion teams, as in the Oilers are older then all the other teams in the west (in the east too, save for Buffalo).

I wasnt really being serious though. Just a little jab.
