For events such as Basketball and concerts, etc., they will have to continue to dismantle the entire rink for the following reason: The elevated aisles that ran from goal line to goal line on both sides of the rink were demolished and replace with shorter aisles behind the player benches and penalty boxes only. This made room for the addition of about 200 seats total on newly added telescoping seating rows in the front of corner sections 104, 105, 109, 110, 114, 115, 119 & 120. (pre X- formation, the only side fill seating risers where set in front of player and penalty boxes). When extended for the aforementioned events, the added telescoping seating rows extend all the way out to the edge of the rink. If the portions of the dasher boards that used to remain in place for other events were left in place, 5th floor patron access to the Delta 360 Club from inside the arena would be blocked as there would be no room for a passage aisle between the new seating risers and the boards. Even with the 2 or 3 new rows stowed for Hockey, the access aisle to the 360 Club between the boards and sections 104-105 & 119- 120 is very narrow.
PS: I'll bet that the revenue generated from about 200 added seats for events other than Hockey more than offsets the costs associated with the additional changeover labor that is required.
