Man the Bay Area baseball scene turned ugly real quick. After riding high from the A's winning the west, the playoffs started, and it was a really hard slap back down to reality of the Giants just playing in a weak division and the A's finally going cold. I'm not sure if I'm surprised, as the Giants have been playing bad against good teams all year and it was bound to happen that the A's would take a turn eventually. The magic couldn't last for ever. It's just sad that this weekend really was a slap back into the cold reality and after what I've seen, maybe it is for the best to end the misery sooner rather than later.

At least the good news is the 49ers did exactly what they needed to do, kick ass. That was quite a domination from the 49ers today, setting a franchise record for offensive total yards. Not only that, but Smith showed he could throw the long ball today as a lot of his passes were really a thing of beauty. Next week's game against the Giants should be fun.
