...because normally it does take some time to get going, and if camp is like 1 week, who knows how well guys like Halpern and co would be able to compete with a JT Miller who is in mid-season form.
I don't recall it being an issue then and I doubt it will be an issue going forward. Veteran players are not stupid, they are ready to play now and will keep that level of fitness throughtout the lockout, especially knowing that they will have to prove their readiness to play Tortorella's style of play.
