Gretzky wasn't a good coach either.
Gretzky said he found it easier to coach defensive situations because he had a good idea of what the offensive players would do or should do and how to counter act them. He found coaching offensive situations difficult because he relied on his instincts when he played and no one has that level of hockey IQ anymore.

Savy ran the PP like a genius, itís something you canít teach because his offensive instincts were off the charts good.
