spares: Stan Smyl, Dean Prentice, Markus Naslund

note: Prentice - Holik - Smyl was the original 4th line but when the focus of the draft seemed to turn more towards elite players and less from good role players, I took advantage of the multi-positionality of my 7th and 8th defensemen.

Bill Barber - Ted Kennedy - Alexander Maltsev
Bob Gainey - Dave Keon - Ron Ellis
Gerard Gallant - Brian Rolston - Claude Lemieux

Scott Stevens - Harry Cameron

spares: Brad McCrimmon, (someone help if you can remember the other two)
Only did a very brief skim of the arguments, but just from a quick glance, the Patrick team looks to be better.

IMO Team Patrick has the 2 best goalies in the series.

Gainey was chosen 37th overall!!!

Both Pilote and Clancy seem like they should be top pairing Dmen. Were they ranked lower back then or was their placement on each teams' 2nd pairing a strategic move (like maybe thinking Pilote wouldn't be able to handle Howe physically)?

I may just not be thinking this through and/or adjusting for recent players that increased their value a lot since this draft , but I expected the 4th lines to be made up of better players.

Also, the defense for Team Patrick seems "too good" that instead of drafting one them the pick probably could have been better used to get a better Top 6 forward (of course I'm not sure where those guys were being drafted).
