Oh good lord that's a ridiculous idea.

If the players are getting paid, then what incentive is for them to make concessions to get a deal done?

Answer: none. Only with pain will the players union agree to concessions. The owners will not, under any circumstances, continue with the current CBA as many of them are already losing money. So why on earth would they want to continue to lose money while negotiations are ongoing?

They want the bleeding to stop. And when the players are locked out - the bleeding has stopped. The owners aren't earning any money, but they're not having to pay the players which is the biggest drain on their team finances.
