If the players don't take this I have lost all respect for them.
Without my employer I do not have the job I do, I could get a lower tiered job away from my home for less money. This is the same for a majority of the players. Only a few can gamble on the big bucks from the KHL and SEL etc. They are really nothing without their mother the NHL employing them, flying them first class, putting them up in nice hotels, etc.
These guys are fighting for a few hundred thousand a year on top end contracts. Are they not thinking of the poor dad or mom making 30 to 50 grand a year now unemployed and fighting to put food on the table because the rinks etc have layer them off. Holy crap by a Nissan GTR instead of a Ferrari and get your spoiled hand fed ***** back to work.
Think of the fans, a lot of us cant really afford to dish out for increasingly expensive tickets, parking, merchandise, food, beverages etc. how bout you apologize to us, and cut prices this year for both parties stupidity.
As for Fehr and Bettman. In what other business are you given a target years in advance, giving the heads up there will be a massive fight to renegotiate, know that people will lose jobs in a lockout situation, then decide to wait to after the last minute to start negotiating and have the balls to throw out an out of this world offer that can't even be based as something to negotiate from. In the real world you would have both been fired the day the contract expired, especially with both your past histories.
Just get the season started, I need something to help my pissy mood
