What is the point of neutral, and what are 1,2, and 3 for?
When going downhill in the snow, locking the transmission in 1/2/3 will control the speed of your car with the engine. I've also used them to engine brake on long exit ramps to "down shift"/slow down instead of riding my brakes all the way to stop signs.
