Yes, plus he doesn't fit the Blues philosophy of big bodied centers. Last season, the only center under 6'3" was Scotty Nichol, and he is a face-off specialist.

And while Berglund's point haven't been developing quit as expected, the rest of his game has rounded out nicely so far.

Another thing is that Steen and McDonald are likely to play on the same line, along with Tarasenko. [source:http://stlouis.sbnation.com/2012/10/...ex/in/2853436] So trading Berglund would make the Blues center depth look something like Backes-Steen-Sobotka-Nichol instead of Backes-Berglund-Steen-Nichol. (Sobotka is versatile enough that he can slide over to wing, likely being the first replacement center if someone goes down with injury.)
