Blazer GM Craig Bonner says hes heard nothing from Columbus lately on Austin Madaisky

Bonner said he hadnt heard anything from the Columbus Blue Jackets about defenceman Austin Madaisky, 20, who is yet to dress in four AHL regular season games with the Springfield Falcons. Springfield is listing four extra defencemen on the roster, so youd think something has to give soon.

Rather than sending him back to Kamloops, the Blue Jackets, who drafted Madaisky in the fifth round in 2010, could ship him to the ECHL. The Toronto Maple Leafs did exactly that with Vancouver Giants captain Tyson Marsh, a defenceman, in 2004-05.

That said, with the way Kamloops is rolling, the Blue Jackets may want him on a junior team vying for a championship if hes not sticking in Springfield. Kamloops does have one of the WHLs better overage trios already in forwards Dylan Willick, Jordan DePape and Brendan Ranford. The player they would move out would be coveted and bring back a handsome return.
