On a serious note. Howson has built a decent young D-line. Now if we can get some forwards to actually score, we'd be in business.
CBJ top prospects when Howson took over, according to hockeysfuture.com:

1. Derick Brassard, C
2. Kris Russell, D
3. Alex Picard, LW
4. Adam Pineault, RW
5. Geoff Platt, C
6. Joakim Lindstrom, LW
7. Marc Methot, D
8. Steve Mason, G
9. Kirill Starkov, C
10. Tomas Popperle, G
11. Daniel Lacosta, G
12. Matt Marquardt, LW
13. Tommy Sestito, LW
14. Derek Dorsett, RW
15. Ben Wright, D
16. Philippe Dupuis, C
17. Jared Boll, RW
18. Trevor Hendrikx, D
19. Petr Pohl, RW

Under "graduated" was this murderers' row:
Gilbert Brule, C
Dan Fritsche, C
Aaron Johnson, D
Pascal Leclaire, G
Ole Kristian Tollefsen, D
Nikolai Zherdev, RW

Know who HF ranked as having the highest ceiling? LW Alex Picard, C Derick Brassard, RW Adam Pineault, D Kyle Wharton, D Andrei Plekhanov.

Eventually people are going to come around to the fact that on June 15, 2007, there was absolutely nothing in the pipeline. No All-Stars, no first-liners, and almost no one who was actually NHL-caliber. The initial build was an absolute disaster in every way, and it's not something that can simply be undone in one year, three years, or (depending on severity) even five years.
