Is it the PA pushing for it to get dumped? I think that's a decision made by the owners side.
And I think part of the reason why it's being dumped so early is because they have to think about the 24/7 HBO thing. They would have started filming that by now.

It is a gimmick, but it is an extremely profitable gimmick and one of the league's marquee events, not one they will relinquish lightly.
