Are we sure that Kostitsyn, Lapierre, and Ferland are ready? The team would have quite a few rookies and second-year players. Gainey knows he will have to do more than just promote players from Hamilton. Trades? Free agents? A combination of both? You mention getting a top Dman. I'm not optimistic that Redden or Chara will sign with the Habs, but if one of them did, it would be expensive because Gainey would have to win a bidding war. The Habs may have to settle for a #4-5.
Relax mate! You talk about depth players not you're corp group. You're corp group on this team is: Koivu, Kovalev, Markov, Higgins and Huet. Think about Bégin to. Those players you don't trade them. The rest, you play with. And yes Lapierre, Kostitsyn and Ferland are ready. It's time to see what they got. We all know how Bulis, Sundstrom, Zednik, etc. could bring to your club and it's not enough. Bulis doesn't have any utility; just remind you that he scores 4 of his 20 goals in one game versus Philly. But his lacks of presence and absence of leadership hurt our club. Look Zednik! He's crying by the fact that he won't stay if he continues to play on a third line Hey! Wake-up Zed! You slept all year long! Don't be surprise if you're on a third line now! It's where you should be et where you deserve it....
