Larsson and Landeskog, Couturier had fell out of first overall by then (Still considered by many to still be a top 3 lock though). Was considered a 3 way race between Larsson, Landeskog and RNH, with Landeskog and Larsson being neck and neck and RNH the "distant" third. By January Landeskog had "pulled ahead". But I guess your point sitll stands.

Don't be too shocked if MacKinnon doesn't have a frontline role on the, Bob MacKenzie speculated earlier this year that most of Canada's top 6 is predetermined and there's no way MacKinnon plays a bottom six role so he's got a lot of competition for the last top 6 spot and it's entirely possible he's only the 13th forward.
