Give him a mats sundin, joe sakic, mike modano peter forsberg and he is going to score 40+ goals. He played with mike ribeiro for half of the season and no one had suces playing with him. Ryder is still learning and has got lots of upside to his game. If we had someone else that can put up ryders goal production than I wouldent mind gainey trading him if he can get us something good in return but true is we dont have anyone that can put up ryder goal production so trading him would be a huge mistake. You dont get better if you trade him for some else equaly good. You get better by adding to what you have. Look at the sens, were they better in the playoffs when they tradid hossa for heatley. No. If they would off been able to get heatley without given up hossa then yes they would of been better.

Thats why gainey has to go after a arnott or savard. Those type of centers are what ryder needs. Picture a arnott-ryder duo. Im sure those two could end up doing some great things. add latendresse to it and you have every thing you need to have an impact line. size-grit-scoring
