Yannic's first choice was #44 (which he wore in LA and Toronto) but when he came to Montreal Souray had it. Yannic wore #44 becaues he was born on April 4th - 4 - 4.

He called his former Toronto linemate Sergei Berezin when Perreault signed in Montreal and asked if it would be okay if he wore Sergei's number, #94. Berezin had no problem with it. Ironically, later that same season Berezin was traded to the Habs and found his unusual number unavailable!

Berezin opted for 95 instead.
