Lastly: Teams can have an "ahl" team, made up of players who have signed contracts but are not yet on the NHL roster. There will be a max salary on these players, and once the max has been hit, decisions will be made based more on perceived opportunities, team reputation, and team location. Max number is 20 players. These must be non-nhl roster players as found on cap geek. AHL team in this league is not where you can sign say Vincent Lecavalier and "store" him in the AHL. This AHL team is made up of Non-NHL roster players who have signed a contract. The 20 can come from both your own team and unclaimed teams. I have a short list of the "name" players. If you look these players up on capgeek, on the team page, it will be clearer what I mean by a signed yet non NHL roster player.

The highlights from unclaimed teams:

Freddie Hamilton
Tomas Hertl
Konrad Abeltshauser
Mikhail Grigorenko
Joel Armia
Zemgus Girgensons
Mark Pysyk
Marcus Foligno
Tim Erixon
Griffin Reinhart
Morgan Reilly
Joe Colborne
Brad Ross
Hampus Lindholm
Emerson Etem
V Namestnikov
Scott Glennie
Jamie Oleksiak
Colton Sceviour
Matt Puempel
Patrick Wiercoch
Robin Lehner
Eric Gryba
Ryan Murphy
Victor Rask
J. Huberdeau
Jacob Markstrom
Matt Tehhyson
David Runblad
Brandom Gormley
Brendan Shinnimin
Mark Visentin
Rob Klinkhammer
Stefan Matteau
Mattias Tendenby
Rostislav Olesz
Kyle Beach
Brandon Saad
Brandon Pirri
Xavier Ouellet
Teemu Pulkkinen

Total of this AHL team salary will NOT count against your cap, but is meant to influence voting. When offering on these players please included that it is an AHL/non NHL roster player. Would help me tons
