I find it a bit sad that after the US weather service down graded it to a level 1 storm --they upgraded it 8 hours later back to being a hurricane after lobbying by the insurance companies over the perimeters of the downgrade in the first place. I got a but who works for Lloyds of London and he is over the moon when he woke up and saw that it was upgraded about 6 hours after it made land fall.
For those of you affected by this know how much of a change in deductible occurs between a storm 1 and an act of god. I know for my home insurance (I have act of God coverage) my deductible goes from £2500 to £25000
