Atlantic Hockey Weekend Preview - Canisius and Niagara -

Canisius will host a pair of non-conference contests on Saturday and Sunday, as Clarkson travels to the Buffalo State Arena. The Griffs are sixth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 1.67 goals per game. They have allowed 2 or fewer goals in five of the six contests this season and have allowed 1 goal in each of their last two outings. Canisius holds a 1-0-1 advantage in the all-time series against Clarkson, with the Griffs and the Golden Knights last meeting in November 2008. Canisius went 0-1-1 last weekend, picking up a 1-1 tie against Air Force on Thursday, while dropping a 1-0 decision to 2nd-ranked Minnesota on Sunday.

The Huskies are looking for their first win of the season, while the Purple Eagles are trying to get over the .500 mark for the first time this season. The last time these two teams faced-off at Dwyer Arena, both teams picked up wins, Connecticut, 8-5, and Niagara, 4-3. Connecticut went 0-1-1 last weekend, falling to Holy Cross 2-1 on Friday night, while earning a 2-2 tie against then 8th-ranked Union on Saturday. Niagara went unbeaten last weekend against Clarkson, defeating the Golden Knights, 2-0 on Friday and then earning a 4-4 tie on Saturday.
