I watched the OL pretty closely, and from what I can see they had some breakdowns, yes. Now there wasn't a particular player who was routinely breaking down. Kalil missed a tackle here, Johnson a couple, Loadholt, Sullivan...occasionally guys get through.
But a lot of times he wasn't getting hammered and had time, he'd flat out miss his throw. I mean, third week in a row that he threw over Harvin's head on a screen pass behind the line of scrimmage? And any time he throws down field he's off by 10 yards. He doesn't seem to have the arm strength and/or can't put the ball where he wants it.
I think the big thing is that because Ponder can't throw and AP is so friggin amazing, the linebackers are coming way up and blitzing all the time. That just makes it worse. I think that's the big difference between now and the beginning of the year. Essentially the opposing team completely gives up the long ball because they know there's no way Ponder or his receivers will connect.
But I'm not a football mind, just a guess.
And yeah, TP was way ahead of the curve on this one.
