First-Seeded Preds Choke Against Underdog Red Wings
Red Wings forward Drew Miller celebrates a go-ahead goal with his teammates in front of Preds goaltender Pekka Rinne.
They started off a the series with a bang, but after game one, the Nashville Predators had trouble holding off the Detroit Red Wings' offense. After a shutout to begin the series, the Preds defense fell apart. They were in it until the end, but in games 5 and 6, Jimmy Howard played outstanding for the Wings. It was a painful way to lose, with the Wings being division rivals. GM Deku Scrub has publicly stated that he is looking to improve the team's defense for next season. "Pekka is a fantastic goalie," he said. "...but he can't do it all himself. Our defenders didn't do a good job in that series."
