I don't think that his offense will ever come around, he just doesn't have the offensive instincts.
I believe that his 15 goal rookie season was an aberration similar to Cogliano in his rookie season. If you look at a lot of the goals, there were a lot of flukey ones in there.
He could very well be an NHLer in some capacity but he will never be much of an offensive producer IMO.
