The league got a $60 million relocation fee because TNSE had an agreement to purchase an NHL franchise from the NHL for $170 million. the original deal was for the Coyotes for $170 million. TNSE was always paying $170 for an NHL franchise and Atlanta allowed the NHL to pocket $60 million because the league determined the franchise to be worth $110million. this was a good deal for ASG as local buyers were offering in the $55 -$75 million range tokeep the team in Atlanta.

Did someone buy the Coyotes? what is the hold-up?
