I just watched this for the first time today...and as long as I didn't take it too seriously I thought it was a good movie.
A few posts back somebody gave brokeback mountain a 9/10...and I have to say I strongly disagree with that assessment. The only bright spot of that movie was Heath Ledger's acting. There was absolutely NO chemistry between the two guys, and there wasn't even any build up to them actually being intimate. 20minutes in, Heath Ledger was in.
On the whole, I thought the movie was very forced and almost awkward(and no, gay people do not skeeze me out, so that's not it). The scene that sticks out in my mind is the scene where he boots the guy in the jaw and the fireworks go off behind him, and you can clearly see that he missed him anyways.
I can't help but think that the makers of this movie were handed this great idea, and instead of doing something that was potentially awesome and truly groundbreaking...they embraced the stereotype.
I personally believe that Ang Lee should never step behind a camera again, along with Micheal Bay and Sam Raimi.
