Unsurprising. The Sabre, Wild, Penguins, and Predators are some of the teams who had large signing bonuses paid this season. Without any gate revenues, they'll lose just as much as the players over a lockout.
Looks like the owners don't hold all the leverage after all.
Can't speak for the other teams but if you know anything about the Sabres owner Terry Pegula, you know he really doesn't care about the money. His net worth is like $3B.
That said I firmly believe he's one who is fighting to start the season anyway, because he's just a genuine fan of the sport who bought the team for the right reasons.
