Seems like a nonsensical move. They sign a guy like D'Antoni to a four year deal even though they'll be lucky to keep their newly established core together for two years, and maybe it'll just be a one-year thing. So, their main concern would be trying to win now, which would suggest that Jackson would be the obvious choice in that regard. Only reason that D'Antoni makes sense would be if they were thinking about what'll happen after Kobe and Nash retire, in which case it defeats the purpose of putting them together in the first place.

Then again, I also thought that hiring Brown initially was a ridiculous move in the first place when it happened, as he leaned on LeBron to hide his deficiencies in major and obvious ways and that that kind of stuff wouldn't fly out in L.A., so the Lakers and I clearly aren't on the same page when it comes to hiring decisions.
