Over the years, I've come to understand that THN is a nice reference but generally pretty questionable in terms of prospects. Teams even use The Future Watch for propaganda at times. The teams themselves will submit their top 10 list of prospects (this is why some of us wonder why THN keeps ranking Frazee as highly). Other teams like the Islanders will keep a guy off their top 10 list if there's any danger of him not signing and going into the draft. In recent years, they did that with Kevin Poulin and Casey Cizikas. The Hurricanes did a similar thing last year with Frederik Andersen who went back into the 2012 draft.



This remains one of my favorite THN oops. Edmonton has a couple of high end prospects in Jani Rita and Alexei Semenov. It total, THN ranks them 11th.

Meanwhile Detroit is 25th. All they had were Nik Kronwall along with some late rounders named Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk.
