The above are nice additions to a HOF résumé, but they don't really count for much toward the "does he get in or not" argument.

This looks great if you're just making a paper argument, but it ignores:
- the #1A reason for these numbers is that he played during an area of inflated stats.
- the #1B reason is that he didn't play defense at all.
- and on top of that, his scoring didn't really translate into team success.
So the numbers are nice, but they have some BIG question marks attached and he would need a bit more of a rounded argument to support them....

... and those items fall well short of what he would need.
Adjust Housley's raw stats back to what they would be in a normal era, and his case is really not any better than a whole lot of guys who aren't going to get in.
