severely overrate Desharnais because :
1. I think he can be a useful player even on a competitive team
2. He is somewhat comparable to Briere (a 34yr player who scored more points than DD did last year only 4 times in his 813 game career)
I'm not claiming he's the ideal first line center, I'm answering a guy who thinks this guy wouldn't be a 4th liner on a good team. Is it overrating to say Desharnais can and should be part of this team's plans?
And you said it yourself, Briere plays on a stacked team - onemorecup's argument is basically that Desharnais is not good enough to play on good teams. Despite having Briere as a short, non-physical and defensively under-average offensive specialist they can still boast a gritty forward corp. Briere only makes said forward corp more of a constant scoring threat.
