Good/Bad news on Tvrdon. Bad news is he is, indeed, out for the season. Good news, it should not affect his hockey career.

The Vancouver Giants announce today that left winger Marek Tvrdon has undergone a medical procedure earlier this week and will be out for the remainder of the 2012/13 WHL season.

“Marek had a small blockage isolated to a single vein in his left shoulder,” says Giants’ General Manager & Executive VP, Scott Bonner. “It was completely and rapidly dissolved and he is doing very well. Marek is under the excellent care of numerous specialists and he is recovering quickly. He will not be returning this season but he is expected to have a full recovery and future career as a hockey player.

Aside from the health scare, it's also bad news for Tvrdon because I have a funny feeling, due to how crummy the Giants are this year, he would have been a likely candidate to go to a better team at the deadline and get a shot at a WHL Championship.
