IMO, Pronger didn't deserve the Hart. Bure did. But Pronger did win it, and Stevens was never in consideration for the Hart.
His season PPG is marginally higher over nearly 500 fewer games, big whoop.
Playing his offensive prime in a lower scoring era than Stevens' big offensive years.
Pre-lockout Pronger was a playoff choker and was known for taking terrible penalties that cost his team. At the same time Stevens was Captaining a modern dynasty.
How did Stevens do in the postseason in the 1980s?
Pronger had worse competition in his era, so no big surprise there he ranks higher relative to them. Which 5 do you have over Stevens BTW.
Bourque, Coffey, Chelios, and MacInnis. Leetch could also be argued ahead of Stevens.
It's close to me, but Stevens player about 600 more games than Pronger which tips the scales.
