I've been getting incredibly bored with GM mode lately, so I decided to try something new. Here's the idea I came up with:
Using a random number generator, move each captain onto a different team (i.e. if the numbers are 2 and 30, Chara and Ladd switch teams)
Repeat the process, but instead move the best player (not counting captains) and goalie from each team to another (i.e. if the numbers are 1 and 29, Perry and Hiller switch teams with Backstrom and Neuverth)
Use the RNG to select a team
So using this method, I ended up with Edmonton. Here is my roster:
Parise (90) Crosby (95) Eberle (84)
Hall (84) RNH (80) Hemsky (83)
Smyth (81) Boyle (78) Jones (79)
Hartikainen (74) Belanger (78) Eager (74)
Smid (81) McDonagh (86)
Schultz (84) Petry (77)
Aucoin (79) Peckham (77)
Backstrom (87)
Khabibulin (77)
(Players in italics were acquired through the randomized initial moves.
I traded Gagner, Omark, Potter, and a 3rd round pick for McDonagh and Boyle. Columbus offered me Aucoin for a 2nd round pick, which I accepted to get Andy Sutton out of the lineup.
I don't understand how, but somehow we are below .500 right now currently 15161... it's probably our defense.
