So after picking up Jordan Leopold and Ron Hainsey at the trade deadline, my Oilers finished 47-30-5 - fourth in the West. However, we got swept by Minnesota in the first round.

At the draft I traded up from 21st to 10th in order to select Morgan Klimchuk.

I'm at free agency now, and RNH is 87 overall, so I think he deserves the first-line center spot. Crosby was a huge disappointment last season, only scoring 67 points alongside Parise and Eberle. It was a tough decision, but I went out and traded Crosby. It was the biggest trade I've ever made. Here's what I did:

St Louis received: Sidney Crosby, Jordan Leopold, Niklas Backstrom (the goalie), 2017 1st round pick

Edmonton received: Tomas Plekanec, Kevin Shattenkirk, Alex Steen, and Carey Price

I thought Crosby's value alone would make this trade work (they wanted him), but it wasn't going so I had to throw in the first round pick. No big deal though, I should still be a really good team in 2017. (I play without salary cap so I don't have to pay attention to salary when I re-sign players )

2013-14 Lineup

Parise (90) - RNH (87) - Eberle (88)
Hall (84) - Plekanec (86) - Hemsky (82)
Steen (82) - Lander (80) - Smyth (79)
Jones (78) - Belanger (77) - Boyle (77)

Shattenkirk (86) - McDonagh (87)
Hainsey (85) - Petry (84)
Schultz (83) - Peckham (82)

Price (90)
Bunz (80)
