Yeah, not that I'm some sort of an expert, but here's my thoughts on the whole scouting business. I think it's really all about who you know. I mean look at a guy like Eddie Olczyk. Because he was a buddy of Mario Lemieux, he was able to jump to the NHL as a coach without any experience whatsoever. None. Similarily guys have been hired as scouts or whatever after long, fruitful careers - or even short-lived ones - to work for a club even though they weren't as qualified as some.

There are actual career sites that I remember checking out when I graduated last year that told you of ways to get into scouting. I wish I could remember the link because I'm sure that would be a tremendous help to you...
