He could just have easily been hurt in the WHL. Not sure that the injury really determines whether this was a good or bad idea.

Not horrible. But not good either. If the lockout ends, Springfield could very well lose 3 defensemen. Madiasky would probably slide up to Springfield.

He could very easily have be sent down anytime. This injury obviously changes things, but you don't know for certain that he was going to be in Evansville for the rest of the season. Last year, the team sent Oliver Gabriel back to Portland in December...
