I saw the hit, they gave him 6 because of "no harm intended" I don't know... I'm thinking maybe Branch's authorities who ever they might be, told him to cool off.

I can only compare it to Halmo's suspension because that's the only 2 suspensions I can remember watching. To me, in my mind Hope's hit was more blame-full if I can use that analysis. In Hope's case, the play was not in front of the net and it looks like he made contact with the elbow, and the other player wasn't playing stupid. In Halmo case, Yakupov was careless with his head down to his waist 10 feet from the net, and Halmo hit him with his forearm.

With that said, I think it's more like Branch really screwed up on Halmo's decision, and was fair with Hope. (Halmo 10 games Hope 6 games)
